The Holiday Season

We had a wonderful holiday season- minus the fact that Jesse and Corbin have been sick for the past two weeks! I felt like the holidays came and pasted very quickly because for some reason I feel so busy all the time. Not busy with anything particular just little things adding up I guess.
Christmas Eve we got together at my moms house for lunch and games and gift exchange! After we went with the Jensens for there tradition of dinner and a movie! We went and saw Lincoln, Jesse loved it...I was bored out of my mind sadly to say. I just don't enjoy history or politics and didn't understand a lot that was going on. ha! yeah I know..It was a good movie-just not for me. Good thing we just went and saw Les miserables to make up for it! :)
you can't tell that we put the camera on a timer right?! :)
Can you tell that Corbin wasn't quite in the mood to take pictures...
All the cousins
Christmas day we hung out with both families and are very blessed with the gifts we received. Jesse and I both talked about not getting anything big this year because of the new house and furniture we just bought. We still bought a few small things for each other. But Jesse and Corbin surprised me with a new computer! :) My current one might die any day without notice and Jesse said its important that we don't lose all of my stuff-especially pictures! I am grateful for it and already loving it!

New years we went up to the Cabin at Bear Lake. We went sledding which I haven't done for a while it feels like. I am not quite the daredevil I used to be... probably because of the combination of being older and being a mother. And Jesse ended up with a huge fat lip!

I went snowmobiling for the first time! It was beautiful! But I definitely learned very quickly that you do not want a single inch of skin showing because you freeze! A tiny strip of my forehead was showing for a bit and I felt like it froze my whole brain! But after I got that covered up I was able to enjoy the ride. Jesse is not a huge fan of the off-road type of snowmobiling because he has learned from the past it can be quite dangerous because he has flipped the snowmobile and it rolled down a steep hill. So knowing that and hearing the many stories of people getting stuck in tons of powder made me little nervous trying it out-but I enjoyed it! Glad I was able to try it out for the first time! I also learned that your arms can get tired quite fast steering those things! Guess I need to work my arms out a little more! ;)

7 months

Is Corbin really 7 months now?! It just seems old...when someone says their baby is 7 months it always seemed so far away for Corbin to be there. I guess being past 6 months is just an old baby now? ha!
He is getting bigger...but still so short! His legs and arms don't fit into clothes very well and he has stubby hands and feet. I love his chubby roll-filled thighs! He did gained 1.5 lbs this last month! I think he is starting to look even more chunky now!...or more like a ball..
This kid loves food! Bottomless pit sometimes I feel like! He will eat basically anything I give him. He was a little picky there for a while but more because he wanted our food and not baby food. He LOVES puffs-I give them to him more as a treat now. Or since he was sick this last little while I gave him as much as he wanted to make him happy!
It is the worst thing when your child is sick! Last week in the middle of the night he woke up with a fever and you could tell he wasn't feeling so great. He continued to have one the next morning to I called and took him in. He had an ear infection on one side so he is on abx right now-and boy they make his poop smell awful! (which they are already a little more smelly from solid food) ha! He is feeling better now but still not 100% because he has a cold. :(
Corbin is still becoming more vocal, mostly grunts or says mamamamama-I wish it really was "mama" but its not. Sleeping is improving I feel like, except for a little set back with him sick-hopefully we are back to where we were. Most days he still can't be awake more than 2 hours, he starts getting a little fussy and I take him in his room and sing him a song ("you are my sunshine"-he knows thats the sleep song now. It almost always calms him down) and most the time he lays his head on my chest and sucks him thumb (which I think he the sweetest thing and I love it) and then I put him down. His naps are about an hour long-sometimes a little bit longer or shorter. I am pleased when he goes 9 hours at night and of course still hoping for more! He is happy as long as he gets enough sleep!...and food.
He rolls and scoots on his belly all around the room-he prefers to be on his belly. He bounces on his belly and waves his arms and legs which make sit looks like he is swimming and he gets up on all fours but has only gone backwards so i'm wondering if he will start crawling soon? He sits up basically by himself now-but after a while will fall over.
He definitely knows his Mama and Daddy now and smiles all the time for us! He loves being held and doesn't like being in a room by himself.
I can't get enough of him!! He gets smothered with kisses all the time!...and he enjoys them! :)

Week of parties!

This last week has been a busy but good week. The best part is that Jesse had the week off (expect for Tuesday) and we were able to spend a good amount of time together! It was a week of parties and outings for us with one every night Sunday through Friday!
Sunday we were with Jesse's Mom's family-with Grandpa and Grandma Haws. The usual eating, playing games, and presents. We say thats the smaller side of the family but now its up to having around 26ish people I want to say.
Monday we went to Chuck E. Cheese's for just a bit...always love some arcades. Corbin will enjoy them someday. We also had Grandpa and Grandma Jensen family Christmas party-which I have no idea on numbers there-a lot of people! They have Santa come and bring a presents for all the kids. It was Corbin's first time with Santa-it didn't even phase him-he immediately just went for eating his present.

Tuesday we got together with Jesse's friends (and mine too now (:) It's there tradition to go to Joy luck in Bountiful for dinner! We had Corbin stay at home but it was weird not having him when most the babies were there, but it was for the best that he stayed home and slept. (Thanks to my mom for hanging out at our house that night)
Wednesday was Jesse's sibling get together. We went to City Creek, attempted to take a picture with all of our kids (the grandkids), ate at Cheesecake factory, walked around Temple Square, and did our gift exchange.

Thursday we got together with some of my friends and had a little party at our place-first time hosting a party ha! With again the usual eating dinner, playing games, and a little gift exchange.
Friday was Jesse's worked party-again we left Corbin home to sleep due to his early bedtime. We went out to eat but it was basically with the fam-with Scott, Dallin, and Megan.
Saturday we went to the Ogden lights with some of my family. They had never seen them before. We even tried out the street tacos which were delicious but also had to get an ice cream at Farr's! We made sure Corbin was nice and bundled up! He just sat in his stroller the whole time and didn't mind walking around at all.
Lets just say all my hard work with eating better and exercising failed this last week. And probably for the next couple days but then hopefully it will get better-but its no surprise with the holidays! right? ( I have no control when it comes to all the sweets around)
It was fun to get together with friends and family every night this past week!-love that about the holidays! But it might of made for an exhausting week for both Corbin and Jesse. Corbin has an ear infection-first time he has been really sick. Breaks my heart to see him in pain-the saddest cry. :( Hopefully he will feel better real soon. And Jesse also got really sick-lets just say it made for one very long exhausting night between taking care of my boys all night! Hopefully both will feel better for this Christmas week! So we can continue to have fun together! :)
